The Road Less Traveled

Watching.
Waiting.
Weak and weary,
Thoughtless, careless,
Full of whim.
Treading unbridled through the forest,
Clearing paths with heavy sticks.

As far as journeys go,
My life is unique in fashion,
A road less traveled,
Full of curves, cliffs and dead ends.
I wipe away the tears of frustration and anxiety,
The realization sinking in,
Alas I am meant to ride alone in battle,
Without a shield or sword defense.
I take the blows unarmed,
With my dignity and humility as my armor.

There is no quest to big or broad,
Especially for those not afraid to travel,
To explore and conquer fears,
Desires and distances,
For the sake of wanderlust and knowledge.
I am the only person I need to impress,
To Love, inspire and heal.

In the end nothing else matters but what I decide to immortalize.
The memories of my deeds will remain,
The barriers broken will welcome generations,
The glass ceiling removed and reframed at a higher height,
Meant to be broken a defeated with even higher goals and expectations.
Live proud of who you are,
A road less traveled.
